Elon Musk seems to be worried that his family members or he face being kidnapped.
Errol, his 76-year old father, stated to The US Sun that his son had increased his security by having more armed guards after "recent threats".
Elon Musk stated Wednesday that anyone posting his location or travel plans online was "becoming an issue" He also said that the takeover of Twitter, valued at $44 billion, "won’t increase my life expectancy."
Caitlyn Jenner, Olympian, tweeted at him December 3, 2013 to warn him against becoming "public enemy number 1 to some very very very bad people."
Musk replied to Jenner by saying that "recent events" made that clear. He then stated that he should probably "increase [his security]" the next day via a Twitter Space.
According to Errol Musk, he was worried about his son's safety even though he is protected by "100 security officers."
Errol Musk, Tesla CEO, stated that he also made a decision to improve his father's security system in South Africa. He added a high-tech camera system and electric fencing as well as 24-hour armed guards.
According to the 76-year old, the security upgrade was necessary after four break-ins in last year.
Insider reached out to Elon Musk and Errol Musk but they didn't respond immediately.
