Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, billionaires, have at least one thing in common: They think HBO's "The Last of Us," a new series about billionaires, is fantastic TV.
Bezos, Amazon's founder and chairman, tweeted Tuesday, "Episode #3 of Last of Us" "I am in awe at @Nick_Offerman's performance. Incredible."
Musk, a Twitter owner, responded with "Great game, great show."
"The Last of Us" adapts the 2013 videogame of the same title. The show is set 20 years after a fungal epidemic and stars Pedro Pascal as Joel. He must guide Ellie, a teenager, through a post-apocalyptic America.
It has received widespread praise, earning a 96% Rotten Tomatoes rating. The show is a huge hit with viewers: HBO stated that the first two episodes have averaged over 21 million viewers since its premiere two weeks ago.
Bezos' most recent episode has drawn a strong response. The episode received a positive reaction from critics and was watched by more than 6 million viewers Sunday night. However, angry fans have reacted negatively to the depiction of a similar-sex relationship.
Musk is a huge video-game enthusiast and tweeted his top games of all time in 2020. A Twitter user pointed out that "The Last of Us" wasn't on the list. Musk replied that he would play it, and that, since he uses a PC to play, he had "missed some console exclusives."
Bezos' Amazon has tried to make video games with mixed results. The company also makes video-game TV programs for Prime Video and has many in development, such as "God of War", and "Fallout."
The agreement on "The Last of Us", is a rare break from the rivalry between Musk and Bezos.
The feud between billionaires has been ongoing for a decade. It focuses largely on their visions of space travel.
Musk has made frequent jabs at Bezos. Musk suggested that Amazon was a monopoly in 2020 and tweeted that it was time to disintegrate the company.
