Musk was challenged by a Tesla investor on Thursday about his jokes about pronouns.

Tesla investor and trans child challenged Elon Musk about his comments on pronouns during a tense conversation on Thursday.

Musk spoke in a Twitter Space for Tesla Investors. A participant asked him about his recent language, but he gave a hesitant answer.

Earl of FrunkPuppy, the user, said that he was still passionately involved in Tesla and had shares in the company. However, he felt disenfranchised due to the CEO’s recent actions.

Earl of FrunkPuppy claimed that they had a daughter and a transchild who were both excited about the Model X but now have “mixed emotions.”

It’s not always related to what you speak, but the opinions and attention that you draw to things such as pronouns. It’s just, it is sad for me to see that happen,” the user stated.

Another person stated that they were worried that Musk would alienate moderate shareholders. Musk replied, “I’m going to not suppress my views in order to increase the stock price.”

The moderator asked Elon: “Elon? Do you not hate trans people?”

Musk stated that he didn’t, but said: “It bothers me that people will be super judgmental when using pronouns. I feel like many of these things are a shield for people to be assholes. It’s a moral shield that gives them an excuse to be assholes. That’s what bothers me.

Musk’s comments were rebuffed by the investor who said that Musk felt like he was “punching to a really marginalized population” with his remarks about pronouns.

“My kid is just trying for like their pronouns used in school and stuff.” Musk interrupted the user and asked him to move on to the next question.

Musk often stated that he wanted to combat a “woken mind virus”, which he claimed was negatively affecting public discourse. Musk mocked the use of pronouns in social media accounts by mostly liberal users.

He tweeted in 2020: “I absolutely support transgender people, but all these pronouns [sic] are an aesthetic nightmare.”

Musk tweeted his latest joke about pronouns: “My pronouns were Prosecute/Fauci” in reference to right-wing calls to arrest Dr Anthony Fauci (chief medical advisor to the US President) for his role with the imposition COVID-19 quarantines.
