SpaceX has finally received clearance to launch the Starship megarocket into orbit. The company plans to try the feat as early as Monday.
Elon Musk, SpaceX's founder and CEO, is relying on Starship to achieve his most ambitious goals. This includes building and populating an entire human settlement on Mars. NASA is relying on Starship for its next astronauts to be landed on the moon by 2025.
After years of review, SpaceX received a launch license from the Federal Aviation Administration on Friday to launch its 40-story rocket at the Boca Chica facility in Texas.

Starship will then be stacked on top of its Super Heavy booster and positioned at the launchpad. The black-and silver vehicle is ready to show that it's the most powerful rocket in history.
SpaceX announced that it would launch on Monday morning, between 7 am and 9:30 am Central Time. Musk estimated that there was a 50% success rate, hinting at the possibility of a rocket exploding like its predecessors.
Live-streaming of the launch will begin 45 minutes prior to liftoff in the embedded broadcast.
Musk, in an interview with Morgan Stanley on March 7th, said: "Won’t be boring!"
