Notably, Google also clinched the second spot in the rankings for business students and the ninth spot for engineering students.

According to a Handshake report on the class of 2024, new graduates are exploring a broader range of industries and job roles. They are diverting some of their applications from competitive tech spaces towards sectors like government and manufacturing.

Despite the diversification in job preferences, US computer science students are still keen on working for renowned tech giants like Microsoft. Another survey revealed that these students consider tech companies as desirable employers.
