Google Holds the Top Spot
Google has secured the number one position in Universum's US ranking, as per a survey conducted among computer science students. The rankings are determined based on the preferences of the students regarding their ideal employers. Notably, Google also clinched the second spot in the rankings for business students and the ninth spot for engineering students.
Shift in Preferences
According to a Handshake report on the class of 2024, new graduates are exploring a broader range of industries and job roles. They are diverting some of their applications from competitive tech spaces towards sectors like government and manufacturing.
Continued Interest in Tech Companies
Despite the diversification in job preferences, US computer science students are still keen on working for renowned tech giants like Microsoft. Another survey revealed that these students consider tech companies as desirable employers.
