The rumor that Elon Musk could fight Mark Zuckerberg in a boxing ring is not going away. Now, the owner of Twitter has confirmed that the battle could actually happen.

Musk's apparent joking challenge to the Meta CEO and amateur Jiu-Jitsu fighter last week has gained momentum. Zuck accepted the bait and asked Musk to send a location. A Meta representative told The Verge the CEO was not joking.

Dana White said that he spoke to Musk and Zuckerberg for an hour and half after the comments and concluded they were "dead serious".

Musk was interviewed on Saturday by Bloomberg reporter AshleeVance for a Twitter Space about the growth of commercial space. But the first question was centered around the possibility of a fight with Zuck.

Musk, speaking from a birthday party in Europe that he claimed to be attending for a friend, said: "Well, I haven't begun training yet." If it happens, I will train."

Musk, despite being heavier and taller than Zuckerberg, lacks experience in mixed martial arts, according to most observers. Insider's Hasan Chowdhury is one of them.

Musk stated in an interview that he spends his time according to the needs and doesn't have to fight with people very often.

Cage fights include a variety of martial arts including Zuck's favorite jiu jitsu as well as kickboxing Muay Thai wrestling and boxing. Musk has a larger frame than Zuck and it's not clear what his approach would be in the octagon.

Zuck's jiu jitsu abilities are well-known, and Vance stated that he "takes these things pretty seriously." This could go bad.

Musk said "yes, that's possible," and concluded "I think this might actually happen."

This could bring an end to the years of apathy that has been a part of their relationship.
