Elon Musk says that Mitch McConnell is insane for freezing to death on Capitol Hill

Elon Musk, who is aligned with Republicans in Congress, thinks it was "insane" that Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell suddenly froze mid-sentence at a weekly Republican Leadership Press Conference.

In a tweet sent early on Thursday, the billionaire Twitter CEO suggested that a constitutional amendment be passed to limit the terms of Congress members.

"We need to amend the constitution." Musk responded to a tweet that showed McConnell abruptly stopping to speak to reporters at Capitol Hill on Capitol Hill.

McConnell, the Republican leader in the Senate, froze mid-sentence during Wednesday's weekly press conference. He was then escorted out of the room by a senator and his aide.

Later, the 81-year old Senate Minority Leader from Kentucky returned to the podium to take questions from journalists and was forced address the incident.

McConnell said, "I'm okay," when asked if his freezing had anything to with a concussion that he suffered earlier this year following a fall.

McConnell's aide claimed that McConnell had stepped aside because the senator "felt a little light-headed" and that he felt "sharp", when he returned for questions.

Musk floated in the past the idea of age restrictions for political leaders. He said that by 2021, anyone older than 70 should not be allowed to hold office.

Musk is also a supporter of Republicans. Insider reported previously that SpaceX and Twitter's owner donated more to Republicans than Democrats in terms of political donations. Musk also hosted Florida Governor Rick Scott earlier this year. Ron DeSantis launched his campaign on Twitter in a glitchy Twitter Spaces event.
