- Tesla's Cybertruck has a new photo that reveals more about its windshield wiper.
- The photo clearly showed that the wiper had left a partly dirty windshield.
- Elon Musk stated in the past that clearing the huge windshield is not an easy task.
Franz von Holzhausen (Tesla's head for design) recently shared a photo of a Cybertruck prototype. It appears that its gigantic windshield wiper leaves much to be desired.
The close examination of the image shows that the windshield wiper from the pickup truck did not clear a significant portion of the window.

A prototype of the Cybertruck, which was in preproduction, was displayed at Tesla's investor day last Wednesday. New images have appeared on social media showing the vehicle's massive "frunk," circular yoke steering wheels, and massive windshield wiper.
Perhaps the most significant Tesla windshield wiper has ever been installed on a truck is the windshield wiper. The Cybertruck's windshield wiper is different from other cars'. It appears to be positioned along the windshield's side, rather than tucking against the hood.
The Cybertruck is still under development so it's not clear if the windshield wiper in the photo will be included in final product. Insider reached out to Tesla for clarification but was not able to reach them.
A leaked video from a Cybertruck prototype last year showed a windshield wiper design similar to the one shown in the video.

Elon Musk stated in the past that there was no easy solution to the car's huge windshield.
Musk stated on Twitter that Musk would consider a deployable wiper, which he said could be stowed in the trunk. However, Musk was not satisfied with Musk's statement.
The original 2019 Cybertruck design didn't include windshield wipers. Fox News reported that the electric-car manufacturer tried a smaller, switchblade-style windshield washer last year. It could retract and extend.
Although the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration doesn't have any standards regarding windshield wiper design, it does require that the device be capable of clearing debris from the designated area of the window in front the driver.
Side mirrors were not included in the original design, which Tesla had to rectify due to regulations from the Administration.
Musk has at least three times extended the production timeframe for the Cybertruck. According to Reuters, delays in production of the Cybertruck were caused by design changes.
Musk stated last week on investor day that the car would arrive this year, which is two years later than what he had originally predicted.
Correction: March 7, 2023 — An earlier version incorrectly stated the year that the Cybertruck prototype video was leaked. It was not in this year, but in 2022.
