Driving a Cybertruck: My Experience as a Psychologist

As a psychologist navigating the roads of Arizona, my trusty companion is my Tesla Cybertruck. Despite its innovative features and self-driving capabilities, I often find myself facing negative reactions from the public. However, what many fail to realize is how essential this vehicle is for my daily work.

The Journey to Cybertruck Ownership

My journey with Tesla began in 2012 when I commuted long distances for my clinical training. The exhausting drives led me to dream of a car that could drive itself, much like the futuristic vehicles in "The Jetsons." This dream became a reality when I leased a Tesla Model 3 with Full Self-Driving in 2021, which I fondly named Ma'Lady.

Over the next three years, Ma'Lady accompanied me on countless trips across Arizona, providing safety and comfort during my psychological assessments. Despite the positive experience with the Model 3, I eventually found that the Cybertruck was the ideal choice for my professional needs.

Embracing the Cybertruck

After the lease on my Model 3 ended, I decided to invest in a Cybertruck due to its size and practicality for my business. The vehicle's advanced technology, including Full Self-Driving, significantly reduced the stress of my daily drives and patient visits.

Although the decision to purchase the Cybertruck was met with hesitation due to the controversies surrounding Tesla and Elon Musk, I couldn't ignore the peace of mind it provided me. The safety features of the Cybertruck, such as hazard monitoring and lane centering, have been crucial in navigating Arizona's challenging roads.

Challenges of Public Perception

Despite the numerous benefits of driving a Cybertruck, I've encountered mixed reactions from the public. While children often express delight at the unique vehicle, adults have responded with negativity, including flipping me off and making derogatory gestures.

As a result of the increased controversies surrounding Tesla and Elon Musk, I've become wary of potential aggressive behavior towards my Cybertruck. However, I remain steadfast in my appreciation for the vehicle's safety features and functionality.

Looking Ahead

While facing public scrutiny and negative reactions, I continue to rely on my Cybertruck for its unparalleled safety and driving assistance. As I contemplate future vehicle purchases, I remain optimistic that other manufacturers will offer similar self-driving capabilities.

For now, I choose to focus on the positive aspects of my Cybertruck and the invaluable support it provides in my daily work as a psychologist traversing the roads of Arizona.
