Elon Musk's Disapproval of Paris Hilton's Cookware Ads on X
Elon Musk recently expressed his lack of conviction towards Paris Hilton's advertising campaign for her cookware on the X platform. Hilton's company suspended its ads on X shortly after announcing an official partnership. Musk has been actively criticizing advertisers as more companies withdraw their ads from X.
The Dissolution of the Partnership
In October, X's CEO Linda Yaccarino proudly announced a partnership between the platform and Hilton's company, 11:11 Media. However, this partnership was short-lived. Last month, Hilton's company discontinued its ads on X due to concerns about the platform's antisemitic content.
Musk's Criticism of Hilton's Advertising Campaign
Musk seems to have taken offense to Hilton's advertising campaign on X. In a recent post on the platform, he stated, "The ad campaign wasn't super convincing tbh. I don't think Paris cooks a lot," referring to the personal cookware line Hilton was promoting.
In addition to advertising on X, Hilton has also promoted her products on Instagram and TikTok.
Advertisers' Withdrawal from X
Following Musk's apparent endorsement of an antisemitic post, advertisers like Disney and IBM have pulled their ads from X. Despite Musk's apology for the post, he has openly expressed his anger and disdain for advertisers who abandoned the platform.
"If somebody is going to try to blackmail me with advertising? Blackmail me with money? Go fuck yourself. Go. Fuck. Yourself," Musk defiantly stated during an interview at The New York Times DealBook Summit.
During the same event, Musk directly addressed Bob Iger, Disney's CEO, who had spoken earlier. Musk's representatives and Hilton's representatives have not yet responded to requests for comment from Business Insider outside of regular business hours.
