Elon Musk found a place for sleep in the Twitter San Francisco office.
"There is a library up on the seventh floor that nobody visits. Musk spoke to the BBC in a live streamed interview Tuesday night.
Musk issued a directive to Twitter workers in November: Get into "extremely hardcore mode" or lose your job. In December, Musk turned some of the offices at his San Francisco headquarters into bedrooms. He also got one for himself.
Musk famously slept at his workplaces before. In November 2022, Musk stated that he wanted Tesla workers to be inspired to work hard and not drink Mai Tais on an island.
Musk stated in November that he had lived in Fremont's factory and Nevada's for three years. "Those were my primary residences."
He said that sleeping on the ground was painful and made him feel like dust.
The Wall Street Journal reported in 2018 that Musk was camping under his desk at Tesla's Fremont factory while the company raced to produce 5,000 Model 3 sedans per week.
Musk stated to Bloomberg in 2018: "I slept on the ground because I wanted to and not because it was impossible to find a hotel."
Musk said, "It was because it was because I wanted my situation to be worse than any other at the company." Musk stated to Bloomberg that he wanted his pain to be more severe than anyone else's.
The interview with Musk was a broad one. Topics covered included Twitter's content moderator, mass layoffs at the company, Musk's plan to make Twitter's San Francisco office a homeless shelter and his dog Floki (whom he jokingly refers to as Twitter's CEO).
Insider sent a request for comment from Musk and Twitter representatives, but they did not respond immediately.
