  • Elon Musk raised concerns about artificial intelligence during Wednesday's Tesla investor day.
  • Tesla CEO Stephen Tesla believed that he had done "some things" to accelerate the "dangerous technology".
  • An investor asked him if AI could be used to help Musk create cars.

Elon Musk says that artificial intelligence won't help Tesla make cars anytime soon.

In response to a shareholder's question, he made the comment on Wednesday at Tesla's investor Day.

He reiterated his concerns regarding the technology. "I am a little concerned about AI stuff. Musk stated that he believes it is something to be concerned about.

"We need to have some sort of regulatory authority, or something, that oversees AI development and makes sure it operates in the public interest."

Musk's views on AI were in line with Mira Murati (OpenAI's chief technology officer), who said that AI tools should not be allowed to be misused by "bad actors".

Musk responded to the investor by calling AI "quite dangerous technology", and adding that he was afraid he might have done things "to accelerate it."

Musk stated last month that unchecked AI could be a danger to society during a speech at the World Government Summit in Dubai. He stated that the Tesla Model 3 production problems and AI dangers were the two most important things that stressed him in 2018.

Musk founded OpenAI, which is the company behind ChatGPT. The chatbot has received a lot of attention since its launch last November. It has been used by many people to create cover letters and side hustles with the AI tool.

Adam Rogers, an Insider writer, wrote that ChatGPT and other AI tools similar to Microsoft's Bing are "bullshit engines", and should not be trusted.
