Elon Musk’s mother, Maye, warned her son on Thursday against engaging in a cage-match with Mark Zuckerberg.
Maye Musk tweeted: "No jokes." "Fight only with words. In armchairs. Four feet apart. "The person who is the most funny wins."
Maye Musk's comment was a reply to a Facebook post by her son, in which the billionaire suggested Zuckerberg fight him in the "Vegas Octagon", also known as Las Vegas' UFC Apex Arena.
Musk's offer to fight Meta CEO in cage match is unclear. Musk tweeted on Wednesday that "If it's real, I'll do it." Later he appeared to make fun of his own fighting abilities. He claimed that the only workout he receives is by picking up his children and "throwing" them into the air.
He tweeted: "I have a great move I call the Walrus where I lie on top of my enemy & do nothing."
Zuckerberg, on the other hand appears to take the idea of a match very seriously. Meta's CEO, after Musk tweeted that he was "up for cage fighting," posted a screenshot on Instagram along with the words: "Send me Location." A Meta spokesperson told The Verge later that Zuckerberg wasn't joking.
Musk's offer of a fight with Zuckerberg follows the repeated criticisms by Twitter that he has made on social media. Tesla CEO's insults have increased after it was revealed that Meta intends to compete with Twitter by creating its own text-based app.
Maye Musk is right to be concerned. Hasan Chowdhury of Insider reported that Musk has slim chances to beat Zuckerberg. The 39-year old Zuckerberg is a MMA fighter who has recently won medals in a jiu jitsu competition. Conor McGregor, a top UFC fighter, has also praised him.
Musk, 51, is taller than Zuckerberg but has not been in the best of health for the last few years. Tesla CEO Musk posted a photo last year of him fighting a sumo wrestling. Musk claimed that the fight caused him to suffer a serious injury to his back.
Musk challenged Vladimir Putin, the Russian leader, to "single combat" last year. Unsurprisingly, no fight took place.
