Rep. George Santos made a personal attack on his potential Democratic opponent, Josh Lafazan. He insulted the chin of Lafazan during an intense Twitter exchange. It was a spectacular failure.
Lafazan responded to the Twitter users who attacked him, saying that "corrective jaw surgery saved my life and helped me breathe normally." "My insurance covered it & that's why i'm fighting for universal health care."
Lafazan continued: "You are below the office that you hold." I'm eager to replace you as Congressman in 2024, or even sooner. "Send postcards from prison".

The argument started over a New York Post article reporting that Santos was expected to announce his campaign for reelection on Monday despite calls to resign from his party due to multiple scandals, which included lies about his background.
Lafazan wrote, after losing his Democratic primary for the House Seat in 2022, that he would not need to lie, unlike Santos. He wrote: "My credentials, I am actually Jewish & unlike you, my Harvard diploma is real."
Santos replied with a picture of Lafazan, and wrote "Really like your chin?"
Some users reported that Santos had temporarily disabled replies to Twitter after the backlash.
"Really like your resume?" One Twitter user responded. Another user wrote: "I will be donating to Josh."
One person noted that most people had not heard of Lafazan before Santos tweeted. "Now, he has the support of thousands across the country. You've just lost any chance of winning a second term. You should have deleted that tweet!"
