Lawsuit Claims Sam Altman’s $27 Million Mansion is Riddled with Defects

A recent lawsuit filed in San Francisco Superior Court alleges that Sam Altman's $27 million mansion, located at 950 Lombard St., is plagued with defects that were not disclosed by developer Troon Pacific before the sale.

Allegations of Construction Flaws

The lawsuit accuses Troon Pacific of overselling the property and failing to reveal the significant construction flaws present in the home. It claims that the CEO of Troon Pacific was aware of these defects but chose to sell the property to Altman regardless.

Issues Faced by Altman

Altman reportedly experienced sewage spills, water leaks, and mold problems in the mansion. The lawsuit details incidents such as raw sewage being dumped at the property, a crushed sewer pipe causing backups and spillage, and multiple water leaks.

Extensive Damage and Repair Costs

In August, a flood caused mold to spread throughout the lower level of the home, resulting in an estimated $4 million in repair costs. The complaint blames the poorly designed and installed waterproofing of the infinity pool as the source of the water damage.

The Lemon Mansion

The lawsuit describes the mansion as a $27 million "lemon" that Altman was misled into purchasing. Despite the property's luxurious features, including a Batcave-like garage and stunning views, it has been plagued by construction flaws and costly repairs.

Unwanted Visitor

In addition to the structural issues, Altman also faced a coyote problem at the mansion. He shared in an interview that a coyote had taken up residence on his property, scratching at the door and causing disturbances at night.

Representatives for Altman, 950 Lombard LLC, and Troon Pacific have not yet provided a response to the allegations made in the lawsuit.
