According to a statement, police are seeking to question an Elon Musk security guard.
Police say that Elon Musk’s security guard is now a suspect and not a victim in an incident last Wednesday, which the CEO of Twitter described as a “crazy stalker” encounter.
The South Pasadena Police Department released a statement on Tuesday detailing the incident that caused a wild week in Twitter tension. It confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the incident that was reported to authorities Tuesday, December 13.
Musk last week tweeted that a “crazy follower” had been following a car in Los Angeles carrying his son, “thinking it was mine.” Musk claimed that the “stalker,” had attempted to stop the car from moving. Musk tweeted a video of one his security guards filming him inside the vehicle and taking a photo of the license plate.

A spokesperson for South Pasadena Police said Tuesday that the victim was the 29-year old Connecticut man who called police to report an assault using a deadly weapon in a car. An officer arrived at the scene minutes later and “the victim” stated that he had just left the freeway when another vehicle pulled in front of him.
Authorities believe that the driver of the second vehicle was a member Musk’s security team. According to the statement, the man who called police claimed that a Musk employee approached him and accused him for following him on the highway. Both of them began filming each other.
Musk’s security guard, as he was leaving the parking area, “struck” the victim by his car; he was gone when police arrived at the scene, according authorities.
According to a police statement, “South Pasadena Police discovered that the suspect in this case was a member Elon Musk’s security group,” “Detectives don’t believe Mr. Musk was present at the confrontation.”
South Pasadena Police did no immediate respond to Insider’s request. Musk was contacted by Insider for further information.
The police statement sheds light on the incident Musk quickly blamed on Jack Sweney (20 years old), who created a tool to automatically post updates about Musk’s private plane’s location. This led Tesla CEO to threaten legal action against Sweney.
Twitter changed its rules abruptly to prohibit posting live locations of people after the incident. Musk claimed that several journalists who had tweeted about the jet tracker were removed from Twitter. They said they had “doxxed” Musk for tweeting about his flights and comparing them to “assassination coordinates.”
Although the timing and place of the incident cast doubt on Musk’s story — it occurred 23 hours after @ElonJet last shared Musk’s location, and 26 miles from LAX — Marc Madero, a LAPD detective, told The Washington Post that police might still be investigating the 29-year old man involved.
According to the outlet, Brando Collado was the Uber Eats driver who made strange claims about Musk’s ex-girlfriend and mother of two of her children, Claire Elise Boucher. Collado claimed he knew Boucher lived nearby the incident and suggested that she was communicating via discreet Instagram posts.
According to Tuesday’s police statement, Collado did not indicate that the incident with Musk’s security guard was anything more than coincidental.
