Tesla beer sales are going up to $30, Elon Musk said. It’s a celebration of Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory which opened over a decade ago.

Tesla-branded beers, brewed in Germany by Elon Musk, have been sold to customers. They cost more than $30 each and look somewhat like the company's unreleased electric pickup truck, Cybertruck.

To celebrate Tesla's Berlin Gigafactory opening, the "GigaBier", was first shown in October 2021.

The new German factory is crucial to Tesla's European ambitions. It delivered its first 30 vehicles in March 2022 after a delay of 265 days due to permit delays and environmental activists.

Musk hasn't been stopped from capitalizing on Tesla's loyal customer base. Tesla claims that the beers are sold in three-packs in glossy black bottles with sharp edges.

The beer is "honoring 500-years of German Reinheitsgebot beermaking" as it is brewed with "our exclusive strain Cyberhops".

It is available only in Europe, and it costs 89 Euros or PS79, which roughly equals to $98. The bottles are 330ml and 11oz in size, which is slightly smaller than the US standard can.

A Brit could buy 70 cans Peroni or 59 Camden Hells cans for the same price. These are both Pilsner-style Lagers with similar alcohol content.

Tesla's second venture into the booze industry is with the "GigaBier", having previously launched Tesla Tequila back in 2020. It came in a lightning-shaped jar and retailed at $250. The product was so popular, there was a second edition.

Insider reported that it was manufactured by a California-based firm, which was charging $45 for a similar product, but aged for only four months.

Musk said that he doesn’t like the taste or effects most alcohol, but he also praises whisky and red wines – which he was seen enjoying at the World Cup finals in Qatar last December.

"A little red wine and vintage record, some Ambien… and magic!" He tweeted this in 2017.

Insider asked Tesla for comments but did not receive a response immediately.
