Tesla's Model S is a luxury sedan for families and the oldest vehicle that's still being produced by the EV manufacturer. Tesla's Model S is the oldest vehicle still in production. It costs almost $90,000.
Tesla delivered its first Model S in June 2012 to a customer. Motor Trend magazine named the Model S Car of the year later that same year. This was the first award in its 63-year span to be won by an EV, and the first time that the jury made a unanimous decision.
Model S, a five-seater car, remains popular with drivers. The Model S Plaid is a faster and more expensive version of the Model S.

How fast is Model S?
Tesla claims that the dual-motor car can accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour within 3.1 seconds, and reach speeds of up to 149 miles per hours.
Comparatively, the Model S Plaid has a 0-60 time of 1.99 seconds and reaches a top speed 200 miles per hour with hardware upgrades.
Tesla stated that the vehicle had 670 horsepower. Model S Plaid is significantly more powerful with 1,020 horsepower.
How far can Model S go?
Tesla claims that the vehicle was built for "speed, endurance and range." Model S's estimated range is 405 miles. However, this can vary depending on the tires and other factors.

What is the cost?
Model S prices are at the top of Tesla's range. The most basic version starts at $88,490 which is almost double the price of the cheapest Tesla. Tesla also adds destination and order charges.
Upgrade to the Model S Plaid costs $20,000 more.
Tesla offers a wide range of customizations and options that can increase the cost by thousands of dollars.
The white interior is standard, but you can upgrade to a black and white or cream interior for $2,000. Although the standard interior color is white, you can upgrade to a black-and-white or cream interior by paying an extra $2,000

Upgrades include a yoke-style steering wheel, which costs $250, and Arachnid Wheels, 21-inch wheels, priced at $4,500. The latter, however, brings the price range down.
To charge your Model S it will cost $475 for a wall adapter and $230 for a mobile adapter.
Model S is equipped with Autopilot by default, just like Tesla's other models. Enhanced Autopilot is $6,000 while Full Self-Driving costs an extra $15,000.
