- Reports say that a Colorado Judge has ordered the sheriff to help Twitter get out of town.
- Elon Musk said that Twitter would only pay rent if he was dead, according to a lawsuit.
Denver Business Journal reports that Twitter has been kicked out of their Boulder, Colorado office after failing to pay rent for several months.
TechCrunch reports that the company moved into its office in February 2020, using a letter-of-credit worth almost $1 million. It used this to pay for rent up until March.
TechCrunch reports that after the landlord sued Twitter in court last month, a judge ordered on May 31 for the sheriff to help Elon Musk's business be evicted within 49 days.
According to the outlet, Twitter's Boulder office had 300 employees at one time. The Denver Post reported that 87 employees were terminated last year before another 38 left.
The company was already sued by other landlords for not paying rent at its San Francisco headquarters and London office, owned by King Charles.
According to a lawsuit filed last month by former Twitter employees, Musk stated in a conversation at 4 am that the company would pay rent only "over his death body."
According to the lawsuit, Alex Spiro (Musk's lawyer) "loudly" stated that it was unreasonable to expect Twitter to pay rent to its landlords because San Francisco is a "shithole."
Insider reported that Musk had reduced the headcount at Twitter by almost 90% in order to save money.
Insider reached out to Twitter for a comment, but it no longer responds when contacted by the media.
