GRAND RAPIDS (Mich.) — Look up! West Michigan got a second chance Monday night to view the Starlink satellites.
The string of lights was visible over West Michigan at 7:50 p.m. According to SpaceX satellite tracking websites, the line of satellites was expected to appear in the night sky for approximately five minutes.

It is important that you remember that tracking sites may not always be accurate. For the best chance to see Starlink, here’s what you should know:
The same line of satellites visible Monday was visible Sunday night over West Michigan at approximately 7:37 p.m.
They are only visible from the ground because the sun is temporarily shining off the satellites at favorable altitudes and orientations.
SpaceX is responsible for the launch of satellites into the night skies. SpaceX is a company that aims to offer worldwide internet and cellphone service without the need for cellphone towers.
The company has already placed 3,600 satellites into orbit. They are invisible to the naked eye once they reach orbit. Satellites can only be seen shortly after a new launch. The company expects at least 12,000 satellites around the globe. If not, it may even reach 42,000.
