You can create a Twitter Space if you are unable to do so on the mobile app. It is also possible that the Twitter Space hosting option has not yet been rolled out to you account. These are the top five methods to troubleshoot the Twitter Space feature and create one if it isn’t working.
Twitter Spaces have been around for at least two decades. They are available in some form and for a certain set of Twitter users. Here are the top reasons you might not be able to create a Twitter Space for yourself.
Only the mobile app can create a Twitter space.
You can’t create or manage a Twitter Space via the Twitter website. This means that you can’t use a laptop or desktop computer to do this. This is a very hard limitation. If you’re trying to find the Twitter Space hosting option at Twitter.com, this will not work. Switch to Twitter from your iPhone or Android.
You might not yet have the feature.
It is possible that this feature has not yet been rolled out to your account. Twitter Spaces should be available to most users by now. However, Spaces are being deployed based on the number of followers an account has. You might have to wait if you have few followers to be able to access the hosting feature.
Reinstall the Twitter app
Temporary software glitches can cause you to be unable to create a Twitter Space at the moment, but have done it before. Force-closing a Twitter app and reopening it is often the best way to resolve a problem. This is how to close an Android app and an iOS app. Close the app and restart it to see if you have solved your Spaces issue.
Your VPN should be disabled
You might experience problems with certain apps if you are using a VPN (virtual Private Network) on your smartphone. You can test if your VPN software is causing the problem by disabling it and then retry Twitter. Spaces will work if you have the VPN turned off. If Spaces does not function properly, it could be that your VPN software is incompatible. You might have to disable your VPN differently depending on the one you use. Refer to your VPN user manual if you need assistance turning it off.
Restart your device
You might also try using Twitter on another device to check if the problem is similar with Twitter Spaces. If you have Twitter on an iPhone and iPad, you might try to access Twitter Spaces on the iPad. Here’s how you can restart your iPhone if that is not an option. For Android devices, hold down the power button and then tap the option for powering off.
