Where is Roadster and Starman? Elon Musk, SpaceX CEO, had stated at the time that the company was estimating the success rate for the launch at 50%. Launch went smoothly and Starman and Roadster began to orbit the Sun. They have now completed nearly four orbits.
According to whereisroadster.com which has been keeping track of the payload since launch, the Roadster travels on an oblong orbit that is closest to the Earth’s orbit but goes all the way to Mars.
On Monday, the fifth anniversary of its creation, the Roadster crossed Mars’ orbit. The Red Planet was however on the opposite side of the Sun. NASA says that while the car and its occupant won’t reach Mars until 2035, it will be there in 2047 and 2050.

Researchers even attempted to predict the likelihood of the car colliding with the Earth. According to a paper that was not peer-reviewed, the chance of it happening in the next 15,000,000 years is 22 percent. We will either be able to divert it from the moment it arrives or it will likely go into the atmosphere.
