Elon Musk attacked Sen. Elizabeth Warren for writing a letter to Tesla’s board. Warren has been a long-standing critic of Tesla boss, and they have clashed before.
After Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote a letter to Tesla’s board, in which she expressed concerns about Musk’s new role on Twitter, Elon Musk took aim at Warren.
Musk responded to a tweeter who wrote about the senator’s letter.
Warren wrote to Tesla’s board on Sunday, stating that Musk’s Twitter acquisition had “raised concerns about possible violations of securities laws or other laws.”
She stated that these possible violations include “whether Mr. Musk is funneling Tesla Resources into Twitter”, a potentially “improper diversion to resources that might affect Tesla’s earnings and sales” and possibly causing delays in Tesla’s programs.
Tesla has been affected by Musk’s obsession with Twitter.
Although shares fell more than 50% in the EV company this year, they did rebound slightly after Musk suggested that he might resign as CEO of Twitter.
Musk has not resigned despite poll users voting for Musk’s resignation. The billionaire had previously promised he would abide by the results.
He instead responded to a tweeter who suggested that only Blue subscribers should have the right to vote on policy-related polls. Musk replied: “Good point. Twitter will bring about that change.
Warren has long been critical of Tesla’s boss, and they have fought for a while. After calling out Warren for not paying federal income taxes in 2018, the billionaire called her “Senator Karen”.
Warren criticized Musk’s original deal for Twitter to be bought in April. In a tweet, she called the deal “dangerous” for democracy.
Warren and Musk representatives did not respond immediately to any requests for comment that were made after normal business hours.
