- Bishal Malla felt his Tesla shake and thought it was a flat. It was on fire minutes later.
- He said that the customer service was not helpful. He said that one agent suggested he bring in his burnt car.
- He said, "I just need a response from them so that I can protect others and prevent the same problem."
Bishal Malla called the customer service of Tesla when his car caught fire, hoping to get some answers. He was instead met with silence, and a ridiculous recommendation that he drag his burned car to a Tesla service center.
Malla, who lives in California, was running errands with his Tesla on the 6th of May. He felt the car shake as he approached Highway 99. After that, he got out of his vehicle to check for a puncture.
He found that smoke was coming out of the bottom. His entire car was soon engulfed by flames.

Malla told Insider, when he called Tesla's Customer Service to complain about the product, "they took the report," but that "nobody responded."
He has since contacted the company between three and four times but "no follow ups" have been received.
He said that he finally was able get hold of a Customer Service agent over the phone, but this didn't really help.
Malla posted on Reddit that "one agent I spoke to told me to take my Tesla fully burned to the Tesla recommended service center." How am I ever going to get that done?
Insider reported that the agent had not given any suggestions on how to transport his car, which was now a total loss, to the service center.
"Yes, the insurance will cover it, but I have to hear from Tesla," Malla wrote on Reddit. "I just need to hear from Tesla and I can protect others so they don't have to go through this issue," Malla said on Reddit.
He told the NBC affiliate KCRA 3 that he felt "speechless", and was grateful to be alive.
He said that his family would have been in the car if it had happened 30 minutes earlier. He was driving to a family event with his wife, two children, and his mother.
Tesla representatives did not respond immediately to Insiders' request for comment sent after regular business hours.
