Making friends as an adult can be difficult, according to many people. Eliza Relman, Insider's expert in economic policy, explains why Gen Zers are so lonely. It's because of the broken housing market.
We can't afford to live in a place that encourages human interaction. Car-centric neighborhoods do not have the public spaces needed to combat this loneliness epidemic.

1. How to make everyone like you on Zoom. Just released is the largest database of Zoom interactions ever. Researchers analyzed 1,600 conversations (850-hours and 7-million words in total) to see how people responded.
- IRL conversations are characterized by a certain amount of back and forth that is difficult to reproduce digitally due to lags and missed cues.
- Participants rated people as better conversators if they spoke faster and with more intensity. People who were able to change topics and bring in new ideas made them more likeable.

7. The mayor of NYC is giving away hundreds of Apple AirTags for free. Eric Adams announced the initiative in an effort to reduce auto thefts. The city will also fundraise in order to purchase more AirTags. Find out more about the new program by clicking here.
8. The number of Americans who don't want EVs is increasing. People are hesitant to go electric because of long charging times, lack charging stations and other factors. Join the growing resistance.

9. The US Navy starts dismantling a nuclear aircraft carrier. This is the second time the Navy has begun this difficult and slow process. The process of deactivating and defueling an 100,000-ton ship is fraught with obstacles. It's a risky job.
10. "I worked closely alongside Bill Gates as an executive at Microsoft for eight years." Chris Williams, a former Microsoft VP of HR, is also a TikTok creator, a podcaster and consultant. Here are three things Gates taught Williams that he'll never forget.
