Elon Musk, Twitter's owner and CEO, began removing the blue verification checkmarks from users last week who had not subscribed to its service, including myself. Elon Musk has since changed his mind and is now giving celebrities (not you) the blue verification checkmarks for free.
Chaos has ensued. Kobe Bryant and Michael Jackson were among the celebrities who received verification badges at first. The gold checkmark was given to a Disney TV account impersonator who then posted a racial insult. Of course, there are many memes.

1. Tim Cook believes India will be the next China for Apple. Apple's opening in India attracted a queue of 300 people. Customers stopped to take selfies and photos with Cook.
