Gov. On Wednesday, Ron DeSantis launched his Twitter campaign for the 2024 presidential election with a few glitches.
Florida Governor was to launch his campaign officially at 6 pm EST, during a live audio-only forum called Twitter Spaces. Elon Musk of Twitter and entrepreneur David Sacks were also expected to be present.
As of this publication, the social media application appears to have technical problems handling nearly 500,000 users.
The forum crashed or allowed listeners to participate without audio.
Sacks began to speak into the microphone at one point, describing the event as "historic" and a "first in the history" of social media before the sound dropped.

A voice was heard at one point saying "Now it's Quiet."
Sacks, who had welcomed more than 100,000 new members, said: "I think the servers are melting."

DeSantis announced his presidential run around 6:30 p.m. The audio was restored. Sacks apologized for the technical problems and asked DeSantis why he decided to announce his candidacy on Twitter rather than cable television.
The governor stated that he did not want to "go with the crowd" but instead wanted to "cut the grain". He then turned the discussion to how he had bucked the federal health officials in the COVID-19 epidemic.
