- Elon Musk, Bernard Arnault and other high-valued guests dined together at the Cheval blanc hotel.
- Musk's mother, Maye, Arnaults' sons Alexandre et Antoine, as well as Musks' father, Richard, were also present.
After the two richest men in the world dined together on Friday, "power lunch" could have taken on a new meaning.
Elon Musk met Bernard Arnault (CEO of LVMH), the French luxury conglomerate's CEO, at the Cheval Blanc luxury hotel.
Bloomberg Billionaires Index says Arnault's net worth is $202 billion. He is the second richest person in the world behind Musk, who has $233 billion. Musk was beaten by the French tycoon in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index last year, but the surge in Tesla shares this year has seen him reclaim the top spot.
A photo on Alexandre’s Instagram story shows that they were joined by Maye Musk (Elon's mom), as well as Alexandre Arnault and Antoine Arnault. On Instagram, he also posted a photo of them on a terrace with views of the Eiffel tower.
Bernard Arnault told French television station Quotidien that Musk is "an exceptional entrepreneur" but no details about what they talked about over lunch are yet known. The menu is also unknown.
Musk joked later that day at the VivaTech Conference, that he might launch a fragrance in collaboration with the Arnault Family.
Antoine Arnault joined the Tesla CEO on stage and asked if AI was a threat to the advertising industry. Musk replied: "AI will be a huge disruptive force, and probably the most disrupting tech ever."

Musk has had a very busy couple of days in Europe. Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, tweeted that Musk met with her on Thursday, to discuss AI and birth rates as well as European market rules, innovation, and European market regulations.
Reuters reported that he also met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the building of a Tesla Factory in France on Friday.
Macron tweeted a picture of Musk with the caption, "Let's Work Together!" #ChooseFrance."
