Bloomberg's top ten wealthiest people list has Elon Musk back.
According to Bloomberg, Musk, who is the chief executive of companies like Tesla and Twitter now has a net worth $187.1 billion. He beat Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, to take over the top executive of luxury brand conglomerate, whose net worth is $182billion, according the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Arnault had defeated Musk last December, as Tesla shares plummeted in December. According to Yahoo Finance historical data, the Tesla stock price fell to $108.10 on January 3, 2023. On Monday, the stock price of Tesla closed at $207.63.
Musk's 2023 has been better than the last year. He bought Twitter in turmoil after he was uncertain if he would follow through with the deal and there was a lawsuit by Tesla shareholders.
He won a civil case in San Francisco earlier this month over whether he should face liability for tweeting that he had "funding secured” to take Tesla private in 2018. However, the transaction never happened.
Musk tweeted this month that Twitter was "trending towards breaking even" and that it had to be saved from bankruptcy. Musk still faces legal claims from former employees of Twitter and lawsuits from landlords alleging that Twitter offices are behind on their rent.
In 2021, Musk beat Amazon founder Jeff Bezos to be the world's wealthiest person. The Bloomberg Billionaires Index has seen the trio of Musk, Arnault and Bezos swap places frequently.
