Elon Musk's Controversial Response
Elon Musk is facing mockery and criticism for his response to a scene in the movie "Leave the World Behind" that features hacked Teslas. The billionaire Tesla CEO seemed to take issue with the portrayal of his company's vehicles in the film.
The Scene That Sparked Musk's Response
In the movie, Julia Roberts's character is shown trying to escape from a stream of self-driving Teslas that have been hacked. As the EVs pile up on the highway, she must navigate her way out. Netflix shared a clip of this scene, which caught Musk's attention.
Musk's Misunderstanding
Musk's response to the scene received backlash from several users on the platform X. They argued that the billionaire missed the point of the segment, which was intended to highlight the potential dangers of technology when it is used against humanity.
One user commented, "Completely missed the point of that scene. They were self-driving Teslas, driving themselves to that road via GPS, to crash into each other blocking the way out. Another reason why this type of tech is dumb."
Another user added, "If Elon actually watched it, he'd know that his comment has nothing to do with it."
Some even accused Musk of being "triggered" by the scene, suggesting that his response was emotional rather than rational.
The Message of the Movie
"Leave the World Behind" is a doomsday thriller that serves as a cautionary tale about society's unwavering faith in technology. The film highlights the potential consequences of blindly relying on advanced tech without considering the risks and implications.
Despite receiving mixed reviews, the movie has gained popularity on Netflix since its release in late November.
