Elon Musk sent an email to threaten to sue Twitter employees who leak confidential information. A source said that he gave them until Saturday at 5 p.m. to sign a pledge. Zoe Schiffer, Platformer, tweeted excerpts from the email which she was able to obtain.
According to reports, Elon Musk threatened to sue “few” Twitter employees for leaking confidential information.
Platformer’s Zoe Schiffer received a copy of the email Saturday, but she didn’t put it online as Twitter “Twitter is doing all it can to catch source sources,” she tweeted.
According to Schiffer’s tweets Musk wrote in the email, “As demonstrated by the many detailed leaks confidential Twitter information, a handful of people at our company continue a manner contrary the company’s interest and in violation to their NDA.”
He said, “This will only be said once: If your clearly and intentionally violate the NDA you signed when joining, you accept responsibility to the full extent law & Twitter immediately seeks damages.”
According to the email, staff had until Saturday at 5 p.m. PST to sign a pledge.
Insider was also told by a Twitter source that Musk had sent the email via Twitter to staff.
Twitter user quickwitted: “Love that the email asking staffers not to leak information, got leaked.”
Four lawsuits have been filed against the company by former employees alleging that it engaged in unfair practices after their dismissals.
Shannon Liss -Riordan represented four plaintiffs in the lawsuits. They spoke at a San Francisco media conference on Thursday. The case was heard in court by five former employees, who claimed that Twitter failed to provide sufficient notice prior to the mass layoffs.
Many expressed support for their former colleagues who were unable to attend the event or had families.
Insider requested comment, but Twitter did not immediately respond.
