- Elon Musk called Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg "extremely political" on Monday.
- On Tuesday, he tweeted that WhatsApp "cannot trust" the platform.
- Musk has been critical of his fellow CEO before, but he is becoming more vocal now.
Elon Musk has escalated his feud with Mark Zuckerberg, claiming that the Meta CEO is "extremely political" and slamming WhatsApp for privacy concerns.
The owner of Twitter tweeted on Monday an article from 2021, published by The Federalist. This right-wing magazine claimed that Zuckerberg had "bought", the 2020 presidential elections through $400 million worth of donations.
Zuckerberg's money went to non profit organizations that helped local election offices improve their operations. This fact, however, has been misconstrued as part of an expansive, far-right conspiracies based on the claims that Zuckerberg stole Biden's election in 2020.
Musk was still interested in these claims 19 months after they were made.
He tweeted "Interesting Article" and suggested that Twitter users could use the community notes feature of the platform to "add additional context & corrections."

Musk replied: "It seems that he's *extremely* partisan." Musk was responding to a tweet from another user who said that one of the non profit organizations funded by Zuckerberg had spent most of their money in Democrat areas.
Zuckerberg denied that his donations were used in a political manner. He said that all jurisdictions who applied for grants through the non-profit organization would be approved.
Musk then moved onto criticizing WhatsApp on Tuesday. WhatsApp is owned by Meta. A Twitter engineer revealed on Tuesday that WhatsApp was using his phone's mic while he slept.
What's happening? The engineer tweeted.
Musk retweeted the post of his employee and wrote: "WhatsApp can't be trusted."

He claimed that many people are unaware "that WhatsApp founders left Meta/Facebook out of disgust" or that they supported the #DeleteFacebook 2018 campaign.
Musk wrote that "What they discovered about Facebook and changes to WhatsApp clearly disturbed them greatly."
Jan Koum, Brian Acton and other co-founders of WhatsApp left the company after Meta bought it. The two had clashed over data policies and encryption with Zuckerberg and Facebook executives.
Acton joined the fray when Facebook's Cambridge Analytica scandal broke. It is time. He tweeted "#deletefacebook."

In response to the Twitter engineer's concern that WhatsApp was monitoring his microphone, the company responded on Tuesday night by tweeting that any monitoring would likely be due to a bug.
The company stated that "we believe this is a problem on Android which mis-attributes the information in their Privacy dashboard and have asked Google for an investigation and to remediate." WhatsApp said that it only used the phone's mic when a user was making a recording or a call.
Musk has become increasingly critical of Zuckerberg in recent years. Musk compared King Louis XIV to Zuckerberg at a Ted Conference in 2022.
Musk has also called Facebook "lame" for 2020, and supported the #DeleteFacebook movement.
Musk responded to Zuckerberg's question in 2017 about Musk's negative attitude towards AI. He said that Zuckerberg's "understanding is limited."
Musk and Meta didn't immediately respond to Insiders requests for comments sent outside of regular business hours.
