Four Tesla passengers survived a 250-foot fall from Devil’s Slide.

The following image is from video that San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office provided. It shows a Tesla car that fell off a Northern California cliff near Devil’s Slide. Four people were left in critical condition.
Cal Fire reported that a Tesla fell down a 250-foot drop called Devil’s Slide on Monday.

According to Cal Fire, four Tesla passengers survived a 250-foot fall off a cliff called Devil’s Slide Monday.

According to Cal Fire’s San Mateo branch, a Tesla carrying two adults and two children plunged down the cliff Monday morning. According to KRON4 in San Francisco a scene official said that the children inside the Tesla were aged 4 and 9. However, the identities of the passengers are not known.

Cal Fire reported that the four passengers were evacuated from their vehicle by helicopter. ABC News reported that the passengers were in the vehicle for over an hour.

Cal Fire stated that the car was travelling southbound on California’s Highway 1 near Tom Lantos Tunnels. It runs along California’s coast.

Brock Sommerset shared a video claiming to be part the rescue party.

According to San Mateo’s Sheriff’s Office, the children were not injured. NBC later revealed that the two adults had suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Robin Johnson, who claimed she witnessed the accident, said that she saw the Tesla driving extremely fast toward an exit on California Highway 1 and then the car went “over the edge” and “straight down”. It is not clear if the Tesla Autopilot driver-assist software was used by the vehicle.

Coastside Fire Protection Battalion Chief Brian Pottenger said to Fox News that the passengers survived the 250-foot fall.

He said, “We often come out here for things like these, unfortunately.” “And this, it was nothing less than a miracle that the survivors survived.”
