Who is Twitter’s mysterious CEO who has not been named?
This question set social media ablaze, with open speculations, some legitimate reporting and so many jokes.
The whole thing started Thursday, when Musk announced that he hired a new chief executive officer and "She'll be starting in about 6 weeks!"
Twitter users quickly responded, with theories that ranged from plausible to bizarre.
Kara Swisher is a tech journalist who made a serious guess. She shared her observations and case in a thread on Twitter. Swisher said that NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino is her "first guess" and called her a "powerhouse in advertising."

The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that Yaccarino is "in talks" for the top job. The report was based on sources who are familiar with the situation. Insider was told by an NBCUniversal spokesperson that Yaccarino is preparing for Upfronts, a media company pitching event.
Some of the guesses were quickly disproved, including some famous tech names
Twitter was awash with famous names in tech, such as Sheryl Sandberg or Marissa Mayer.
A representative of Sandberg confirmed in an email to Insider that "it's NOT Sheryl."
Swisher also slammed the idea of Susan Wojcicki from YouTube, who resigned as CEO in February. She said she would "eat Elon nonsense at breakfast." Wojcicki didn't respond to an email sent.
Insider reported Thursday that some Twitter employees believed Ella Irwin who oversees trust and safety on the platform could be chosen. Some current and former Twitter staff questioned Irwin’s qualifications and experience. One former employee, who spoke to Insider, called her "wildly inqualified."
Elon Musk and jokes – everywhere
Twitter users made jokes about who could continue the turbulent reign. The names of Elizabeth Holmes, Anna Sorokin (also known as "Anna Delvey") and other convicted criminals were frequently mentioned in the comments.

Holmes, the founder of Theranos a fraudulent blood-testing startup, was sentenced to over 11 years in jail after her explosive tenure. Sorokin was released in October.
Then there were tweets about Elona Musk, as people shared photoshopped images and other images showing the Tesla CEO with a long hairstyle. They joked that Musk would not give up his job.

Shiv Roy, a fictional aspiring CEO in the HBO series "Succession," has also been thrown out as a prank, even though she could have her hands full with a brewing scandal involving a snakey technology bro in the fictional world of Waystar Royco.
