The Information reports that Linda Yaccarino will start her new job as Twitter's CEO on Monday.
This is about two weeks sooner than anticipated, based on Elon Musk’s initial announcement from last month.
Musk announced on May 11 that he had hired a new chief executive officer who would begin in about six weeks, around June 22.
He added, "My role will change to that of exec chairman & CTO and I will be overseeing software, product & systems."
Musk's first tweet led to a frenzy of speculations and jokes, as people speculated who the female CEO was. Musk later confirmed that it would be Yaccarino.
He said that she would "focus primarily" on the business operations, suggesting that her main goal is to revive Twitter's relationship between advertisers and NBCUniversal.
Insider reported that her sudden departure from NBCUniversal threw Comcast into a crisis. A senior advertising executive at NBCUniversal compared the current situation to a "Cuban nuclear crisis".
Musk said in December that he would resign as Twitter CEO once users had voted. In April, Musk was joking about his Shiba Inu taking over the role.
The Information's report came on the same day as another former NBCUniversal executive also joined Twitter.
Yaccarino, in a tweet sent on Sunday, welcomed Joe Benarroch to Twitter, who was responsible for the communication strategy of NBCUniversal’s advertising and partnership branch.
Musk confirmed that Twitter had lost two key employees in its Trust and Safety division days earlier. The dispute was over a trans-hate film.
