Sam Altman says he’d go watch Elon Musk cage fight Mark Zuckerberg

It's not new for tech execs to trade barbs, but Elon and Mark Zuckerberg appear eager to go to the next step. At least one of the other tech titans plans to watch the tussle.

Musk responded to a Twitter speculating about Meta possibly launching a rival for Musk's twitter in a Tuesday tweet.

Zuckerberg, who is a jiu-jitsu enthusiast and competed in his first tournament this year where he won some medals, seemed to agree. Musk posted a screenshot from Musk's tweet on an Instagram story Wednesday night, with the caption "Send me Location."

Musk's response to Zuckerberg was "Vegas Octagon", which appeared to be a reference to the Apex Arena in Las Vegas, where UFC matches are held.

Sam Altman, OpenAI's CEO, told Bloomberg's Emily Chang that he'd go to watch if Musk and Zuck did it. However he didn't believe he'd ever fight Musk in a physical battle.

Altman and Musk formed a group in 2015 that co-founded OpenAI (the maker of ChatGPT), before Musk left its board in 2018. Since then, they have exchanged insults.

Musk said that one of the main reasons he left OpenAI is because he "didn’t agree with what OpenAI wanted to do".

Altman, a Bloomberg reporter, said that Musk is very concerned about AI safety. We have different opinions on certain parts, but we are both concerned about it and Musk wants to ensure that we, as a world, have a maximum chance of achieving a positive outcome.

Altman didn't immediately respond to Insiders request for comment.
