The Washington Post discovered that the man who met Elon Musk’s security guard at a Los Angeles gas station was Brandon Collado. He claimed that Musk knew his exact location and was “stalking” him. He believed that Musk’s ex-partner, Grimes was trying to communicate.

According to The Washington Post’s reporting, the Uber Eats driver who confronted the car carrying Elon Musk’s son believed he was connected with Grimes’ ex-girlfriend. However, police have not found any evidence to support the theory that the incident was caused by Musk’s private aircraft tracking accounts.

Musk tweeted Wednesday’s video in which one of his security officers was seen moving towards a man riding in a car and filming the plate. Musk claimed that the man in the car was blocking the camera and jumped on the hood of a car with his son, X AEA-Xii.

The video does NOT show the events before the confrontation.

Musk tweeted, “Last night car carrying lil’X in LA was followed (thinking it was mine), who then blocked car from moving & climbed onto the hood.”

Musk also began to speak out against 20-year old Jack Sweeney who manages multiple private jet tracker accounts including one that tracks Musk’s jet. These accounts track the flight paths of celebrities’ private jets using publicly available data.

Twitter began to suspend journalists who Musk claimed “doxxed him” for tweets related to his flights. Some of those blocked stated that they had never shared such information. Musk said that the posts were like sharing “assassination coordinates.”

Musk wrote, “Legal action against Sweeney and organizations who supported harm for my family,”

The Post reported Sunday that the incident took place at South Pasadena’s gas station on Tuesday night — 23 hours after Musk was last tweeted by @ElonJet. According to the Post, the incident took place 26 miles from LAX.

The Post identified Brandon Collado as the man seen in Musk’s video on Twitter. He was an Uber Eats driver and knew that Grimes — Musk’s ex-girlfriend and mother of two of his children — lived near the gas station where the incident took place. According to the Post, Collado rented his vehicle.

Collado claimed to the Post that Grimes was communicating secretly with him via Instagram posts. He also claimed that Musk was able stop him from ordering Uber Eats, and that Musk was in control of the company. The Post reported that Collado claimed Musk knew his exact location and then accused Musk of “stalking his family” in a tweet.

Collado stated to the Post that he came to the station to make deliveries and visit a friend. Collado is seen walking alongside a Musk security guard in videos that were obtained by the Post. The Post reported that there is not enough information to confirm whether Musk’s son was present in the car.

According to the Post, the manager of the gas station said that South Pasadena Police Department had responded to the incident. Multiple outlets reported that the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a statement that Musk had not yet filed a police report on the incident.

Marc Madero, a LAPD detective, said to the Post that his unit is investigating whether Collado was a suspect in their investigation for stalking Boucher. He also suggested Collado might have deliberately taken steps to hide his identity.

Madero stated that even though his unit does not have proof that Collado used Jet Tracking to locate Musk’s security personnel, it might be possible.

Insider reached out to Musk, the SPPD and the LAPD for clarification but they did not immediately reply.
