Bloomberg reports that an ex-Twitter employee claims the company sent his wife a termination notice via email.
Bloomberg reported that a former employee of Twitter was fired and that the company sent a termination notification to his wife’s email instead.
John Barnett was fired as Twitter’s product manager in November. This is according to a suit filed by Barnett. The lawsuit alleges that Twitter violated a restricted stock arrangement he received from the company when it acquired Chroma Labs. Bloomberg reports.
Bloomberg reported that Twitter sent an email to Barnett’s wife with the termination notice, according to the lawyers in the lawsuit. According to the report, Barnett’s wife did not work for Twitter.
Bloomberg reports that lawyers claimed that “Twitter never sent the email to Barnett.”
Barnett was fired for supporting Eric Frohnhoefer (a colleague), who claimed he was fired following an argument with Elon. According to the report.
Bloomberg reported that Barnett’s stock options which he got when he joined Twitter following the acquisition of Chroma Labs could only be cancelled if he is fired for misconduct.
According to Bloomberg, Twitter stated in Barnett’s termination notice, that any unvested stock option would be canceled due to his firing.
Twitter and Barnett didn’t immediately reply to Insider’s request for comment outside of US business hours.
Insider reported that three Twitter employees were fired after criticizing Musk on Twitter within 24 hours. Frohnhoefer was one of them, and he tweeted a photo that showed that he was locked out from his computer at work. Musk tweeted that Frohnhoefer was “fired” but deleted the tweet later.
According to an insider interview, a former manager said that Twitter sent employees an email informing them about their firing. Many employees were also denied access to their work email accounts, laptops, and Slack accounts, without any formal notice.
Barnett’s experience is reported as Twitter was hit with legal complaints by 100 former employees who lost their jobs after Musk took control of the company.
