According to reports, Twitter executives are looking for innovative ways to raise funds for their company.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk stated last month that he would delete 1.5 billion accounts, which will free up “name space,” but he didn’t mention plans to sell usernames.
This plan could be a part of Twitter’s efforts to find new revenue streams after Musk’s purchase of Twitter for $44 billion. The company has been paying increasing interest payments since then. Late last year, the company reduced its workforce by half and started charging $8 per month for its “Twitter Blue” verification system.
Musk warned that bankruptcy is possible despite these cost-cutting measures.
Although it is unlikely that Twitter’s dormant account have usernames that are attractive enough to make a lot of money for the company, Insider reported previously that some people will go to great lengths to obtain unique social media handles, harassing people, and sometimes even threatening to kill people to get their usernames.
