Ella Irwin is Twitter's director of trust and security. She has resigned.
Irwin confirmed to Reuters the news after Fortune's Kylie Robison, citing a screenshot, reported that Irwin had deactivated his Slack. Musk, who recently visited China for the first time in three years, did not post about the news.
According to Irwin's LinkedIn profile, she joined Twitter in 2022 just before Elon Musk bought the company.
Bloomberg reports that Irwin had left Twitter during the early days Musk's presidency, but was asked to come back due to a surge in resignations.
Irwin didn't immediately respond to Insiders request for comment made via LinkedIn after normal business hours.
Irwin becomes Twitter's second Trust and Safety chief to resign following Musk's acquisition. Yoel Roth resigned from her position on November 10th, weeks after Musk purchased the company. Roth survived Musk’s first round of layoffs that affected about 50% of the staff.
The Washington Post reported that Roth had reportedly privately disagreed with Musk over his decision to allow previously banned users to return to the platform.
In The Twitter Files, Bari Weiss accuses Roth and other executives of being part of a secret group that makes controversial decisions regarding which users and tweets will be allowed on Twitter.
Twitter's representatives responded with an automated message, which did not answer the question.
